About Me

My name is Ugyen Tshewang, and art has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Sketching was my escape and my joy, and my brother’s creativity inspired me to chase my dream fearlessly. Over the years, I explored various art forms, from animation character designs to still-life studies, constantly pushing myself to grow.
In 2013, I became a part of VAST Bhutan, a turning point in my journey. Surrounded by incredible senior artists, I honed my skills and gained new perspectives on art and its impact. Through VAST Bhutan, I contributed to meaningful projects, such as the Mural Wall Painting at PHPA in Punakha & Haa, Airport Beautification Project in Paro, and Postal Museum Renovation in Thimphu. Each project was not just about creating art but about storytelling, preserving culture, and bringing communities together.
Beyond my personal artistic growth, I found immense joy in giving back. As an assistant mentor at Youth-Interaction Art Camps, I shared my knowledge with aspiring young artists, hoping to inspire them the way I was once inspired. From 2016 to 2020, I also volunteered at Tarayana Fairs, using face painting to bring smiles to countless faces—all while proudly representing VAST Bhutan.
Today, I continue my artistic journey as a concept artist, graphic designer, and game developer at GEIPL, where I blend creativity with innovation. No matter where my path leads, my passion for art, game development, and community remains at the heart of everything I do.

Acrylic on Canvas (Monochromatic)
This artwork is painted using acrylic paint on canvas, focusing on a monochromatic (single-color) palette. Acrylic paint is known for its fast drying and versatile texture, allowing for smooth blending and strong contrast. The monochrome style enhances the depth, shadows, and intricate details of the dragon mask, bringing out its power and spiritual essence. Different brush techniques, such as dry brushing for texture and glazing for soft transitions, create a sense of depth and movement. The result is a striking and detailed depiction of Bhutan’s sacred Druk mask, emphasizing its mystical and cultural significance.
